 The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be the first FIFA World Cup to be held in the Arab world and the first in a Muslim-majority country. The tournament will be held from 21 November to 18 December 2022, making it the longest World Cup in history.

This will be the first World Cup held entirely in winter, as the usual June–July dates are unsuitable for Qatar’s climate. It will also be the first World Cup not to be held in May, June, or July. It is to be played in a reduced timeframe of 28 days, with the final being held on 18 December 2022, which is also Qatar National Day.
